A Splash Of Color

I open my curtains, the world’s looking grey

but not for much longer ‘cause I’m gonna play!

I’ll get out these pencils and I’ll start to shade --

all of the greyness will soon start to fade.

At first I’ll go softly – just a feathered touch,

for some things need paleness or become too much.

But then I’ll get bolder, make others so bright;

They’ll attract your eye and fill you with delight.

I might then go crazy, swap colors around,

make grass that is purple or color in sound.

Perhaps I’ll go abstract with bold shapes and splotches,

at least then you won’t see my errors and botches.

You won’t know what’s hit you – a kaleidoscope world

when in to my ‘art work’ you find you’ve been hurled.
