Craving Oblivion

What is this?
The corroding of my heart,
The craving for a restart,
This cavernous hole through my chest.

When will this cease?
The loss of rationality,
The gain of my insanity,
This blackness devouring my mind.

Where can I go?
To finish this tormenting,
To halt this self-lamenting,
When salvation seems beyond me.

How do I stop this?
The consummation,
The desolation,
Of loving, hoping and delight.

Why must this be so?
That I am never free,
That the void befriends me,
When this abyss restrains me down.
