"Now I'm drowning in a sea of gilt, regret and water. My armor, useless chunks of bronze meant to protect, now ensuring my death." Atticus thought, his lungs burning as he waisted his preshous last breath screaming for help. Only to be squelched by the water that was so enticing at first. Cassius a woke, a cold sweat wrapped around his skin and sticking his tunic to his wet skin. The cold of the night seeping into his skin. He shivered, the act sent a bead of sweat down his brow and onto the tip of his nose. He brushed it aside with a trembling hand. Then a wave of remembrance rolled across his mind. Bringing with it the memory of his brothers last screams, flailing arms and terrified eyes, as the churning sea pulled him into the black waves. The echoes of Atticus' screams haunting Cassius' ears for a moment. Then morphed into the sound of Cassius' cries of mourning. The cry sweeping over the small island. The wind answering as it rustled the leaves of a solitary palm tree. The sky a desolate gray over a caliginous sea that would come to hold more horrors than lost family.
