This was inspired by a true situation that I became aware of about a somewhat distant family member whose wife had left him and their children for some reason.

Little girl sits all alone

Momma left her and their home

Daddy's gone, he works all day

Gets home late with no time to play

Why don't you love me momma

Why aren't you here for me

When I cry myself to sleep

Through my tears I cannot see

Little girl sits all alone

Momma hasn't come back home

Dad is home, didn't work today

No check either for his bills to pay

Why don't you love me honey

Why don't you stay with me

As I lie myself to sleep

From my fears I can't be free

Little girl sits all alone

Momma never came back home

Father's gone, he died today

It rains and rains and the sky is gray

Why don't you love me mother

Why weren't you there for me

While I 'buy' myself some sleep

Everyday, I can only flee
