Something different and outside the box; a poem about one of the greatest sex symbols in the world...only imagine Miss Monroe writing and reciting the poem.

"Marilyn Monroe"

By Christian Taylor

On the outside,

Marilyn Monroe is what they see,

I see,

Little Norma Jean.

On the outside,

They see a dumb blonde with no talent,

I see,

Little Norma Jean.

All I want,

Is to be a great actress.

All I want,

Is to be seen more than my beauty.

All I want,

Is to be loved.

All I want,

Is a family.

You want,

Seven Year Itch,

I want,

Bus Stop.

Confidence I need,

Freightened to disappoint,

Guidance I look,

Solace with the Actors Studio.

Scared little girl I am,

Memories of yesterday,

So painful,

Sleep so fleeting.

Something's gotta give,

A misfit I feel,

Loved by the public,

Love I don't feel.
