Dear Diary,

"Jenna Reid, the ace of McArthur High, the most talented to become a doctor like her parents." Ugh!!! I can't take it anymore. I don't want to become a doctor. I don't want to follow their footsteps. It is nearing the end of senior high and I am still filling in my parents expectations. I have done everything they wanted me to do: grades, done, volunteering, done, becoming valedictorian, done, etc. I just want to build my own path.

Tonight was the opening act of Shakespeare classic: Romeo and Juliet at our school. I rehearsed for months to be the perfect Juliet for my parents to see. Everyone at the show loved it, except for my parents. They left like 20 minutes after the play had just started to go perform heart surgery for a patient. Okay, I don't blame them for going to save a life, but I do blame them for not paying attention to what I do best. ACTING!!! I mean, all they ever talked about was me becoming a doctor in the future just like them.(sigh)

Anyways, the play was a success, our theatre class have raised about $2,187 to build a bigger and nicer theater. After the play had ended, it was already 11:45pm. Cassidy, Berna, and Emily took me out to eat to celebrate my last show of my high school year. We went to Pizza Den to eat. We ordered 1 large pepperoni pizza and 1 large hawaiin pizza along with breadsticks and sodas. When we got there, we met Michael, my crush that I liked for a very long time. Michael and I go all the way back to elementary school. He used to be so dorky but now he is just a hottie. Anywho, as we ate we talked about our future. Cassidy is going to Mills College to further her studies in becoming a teacher. Berna is going back to the Phillipines to go to college there and Emily is running her family business. I am so happy for them. They got their life fugured out. We talked the night away and before we know it, it was already 1:52am. I walked them home one by one until i was the only one walking alone in the dark.

I admit I was scared but it gave me time to think. So many thoughts were running in my head. "Should I follow my heart and pursue my dreams or should I do what makes my parents happy?" I got home around 2:15am. However, my parents wasn't. As Always.
