2. We’re Not Really Talking

We’re not really talking

Just exchanging noise to

Cover our insecurities

We’re not really friends

Just two lonely people

Who’ll settle for

Any type of company

I'm not really meant to

Be here

You're just forced

To invite me

You’re attempting

To save face

Before our polite company

What do you want me to do?

Should I play along,

In this game we’re given?

Look myself in the mirror

Later on,

Hope I can be forgiven?

Or walk away for the sake

Of authenticity?

Remain the stranger in the room

Though I'm here every week.
