There is rivalry in every stage of life

I’m sorry I happen

To be your rival

I didn’t mean to be born after you

And stomp your survival

I’m sorry I happen

To be younger than you

Some people get older

And I do too

I’m sorry to be better

At what I finish

My mind is wired into it

I’m sorry yours is a wish

I’m sorry that I can’t

follow supersuit’s whim

I was paid to do this

But my dream you can’t dim.

I’m sorry I’m not as rich

As you are now

I hear your sympathy

I don’t’ need your vow

I’m sorry to finish

The race so quickly

I though you were my friends

I’ve seen others

Even the score

One day, rivals

Tonight, no more.
