My Spleen wrote a poem about itself. Sneaky little spleen, sadly ignored just trying to live the dream.

I wouldn't have it any other way

the fact that

You don't even care about me

but that's okay

I care about you

it's my

function

tried and true

Though

Don't even think about removing me

unless infection is what you pursue

And, even though

You laugh at my name

that's okay also

I would never laugh at you

or do the same

I

am immune to that

wanting you to be

as well

in fact

i remove the unnecessary

 left behind

uncompelled

that's how I act

All that bad temper

wrath, resentment and rancor

I consume

And send it back filtered

purified by my baptismal ways

 cleansed

I am barely known

yet I remain

I wouldn't have it any other way

  forget my name once more

  my function

requires me

to stay

 unless you deserve a change

Though lets not fool one another

you can live without me

if only i was like the kidney

had a sister

or a brother

then maybe

just maybe

you might not need

one of me

and one of me could stay

alone like i am today

Alas, I am only but one

my function

often unthought of
