The Feeling of Rest

I am at peace.

my ears are filled with the music of the ocean,

the waves lapping over each other.

the bright hazy glow of the sun warming my skin,

painting my eyelids with an orange glow.

the tide laps at my ankles,

rocking my core.

the sand oozes through my toes like slush.

the salt is dried to my lips.

my ringlettes of hair drip teardrops of the ocean onto my shoulder and back.

Here at the seaside,

i am finding rest.

ive left my love and pain

In the car and as

the setting sun

turns my skin bronze,

and my hair golden,

i come to grips with

Peace
