The Only Exception

Even how sweetly you smiled at me,
Even how sensibly you spoke to me,
Even how lovely you appeared to be,
You are different,
You are an exception.

Even how confidently you approached me
Even how romantically you wrote to me,
Even how kindly you treated me,
You are different,
You are an exception.

Even how delicately you held me,
Even how intimately you embraced me,
Even how irrevocably you loved me,
You are different,
You are an exception.

Even how achingly you hurt me,
Even how selfishly you left me,
Even how deadly you seemed to me,
You are different,
You are an exception.

Even how annoying you were sometimes,
Even how terrible you were several times,
Even how foolish you were a few times,
Even how selfish you were at times,
You are different,
You are an exception.

Even how desperately you wanted me,
Even how much you promised me,
Even how deeply you missed me,
Even how sorely you said sorry,
You are different,
You are an exception.

I yearned for your voice,
But you left me with no choice.
I waited for your presence,
You left nothing but absence.
I wished for your embrace,
You left with no space.

I longed for your kindness,
You left nothing but emptiness,
I missed your affection,
You left nothing just an obsession.
But still you are different,
You are an exception.
