The darkness that conquered the night,
concealed those crystals within.
A spark that was not extinguished.
A graze that went unseen.
A catastrophe that no one foresaw.

They had unwavering faith,
as oblivious as they could be.
Even the deep depths could tell
that it was screaming in agony,
but even so, even so, the guffaws grew.

It snapped and flailed,
thrusting the sky so high,
like a hoisted flag.
Together with one’s cry,
it perished into the abyss.
