A stalker is a person who harasses another person, as a former lover, a famous person, etc., in an aggressive, often threatening and illegal manner. Stalking behaviors are related to harassment and intimidation and may include following the victim in person or monitoring them. Although stalking is illegal in most areas of the world, some of the actions that can contribute to stalking can be legal, such as gathering information, calling someone on the phone, sending gifts, emailing, or instant messaging.

Michael was a stalker. He was a "Solitary Man". He had a very big ego. He believed he was as important as "The American President" and the "King of California". He had become obsessed with the notion that the long-lost treasure of Spanish explorer Father Juan Florismarte Torres was buried somewhere near his suburban California house in the Santa Clarita Valley. Armed with a metal detector and a stack of treasure-hunting books, Michael soon found reason to believe that the gold resided underneath the local Cotsco. On his way to Cotsco he saw a beautiful blond girl with the "Eyes of an Angel", and decided to change his target. He forgot completely about the gold of the Spanish explorer. What he wanted now was the girl with the golden hair. But what made him change his mind!? Anyone out of his mind would do such thing. He didn't use his brain. Indeed, it was his "Basic Instinct" that took the decision for him. He was victim of a "Fatal Attraction".

He wanted to make a "Double Impact" on the blond girl, whose name was Sharon. To follow her without being seen, he "Cast a Giant Shadow" by hiding behind a "Summertree". It was difficult to approach Sharon, as she was always surrounded by "Wonder Boys". She was the typical Californian girl, "Made in America". During a storm "Black Rain" fell down. It was not a problem for Michael as he was "The Rainmaker". He could make the sun shine or make it rain. But he couldn't manage to get a date with Sharon. He tried anything to get her attention. He told her she was like "The Jewel of the Nile". But awaking a romantic feeling in Sharon was like trying "Romancing the Stone". He got so upset that he accused her of being insensitive, and said Sharon was like a stone. There was no way she would be "Falling Down" at his feet.

After being humiliated many times by Sharon, he planned the "Perfect Murder" to make her pay. If he couldn't possess her, nobody would. If he couldn't manage "Romancing the Stone", he would turn Sharon into a "Stone Cold". He started to threaten her anonymously. He became "The Ghost and the Darkness" of Sharon's nightmares. She hated "The Game" Michael was playing with her. Michael was haunted by the memory of "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past". After so many failed love relationships, he started to hate women. He became crazy, and caught "The China Syndrome". What is it? It's when a nuclear reactor melts through the floor of its containment system. In the case of Michael, it was his brain who melted inside his head. And as a consequence of the syndrome, he fell into a "Coma". "Beyond a Reasonable Doubt", it's very unlikely that a stalker will stop stalking by himself. Don't count on "The China Syndrome". You better count on the police and be careful when out in the street.

What a stalker like Michael has in his mind? Let's go through it.

"Out there is nothing but possibilities."

Michael was very optimistic. He believed he could get all the girls he wanted. At the end he got nothing. All his opportunities remained possibilities.

"Players never die - they just try their luck at another table."

He tried every table at the casino. And guess what! He won every time he played at another table. Unlucky at love, lucky at cards.

"There was a lot of tabloid journalism about my supposed sex addiction. Bullshit. It's all bullshit. I mean, come on, I never pretended to be a saint. But give me a break."

A stalker is not necessarily a sex addict. Anyway, most men would become a sex addict when dreaming about the sexy and glamorous Sharon.

"Being single is pretty good. It's a nice sense of irresponsibility."

After many failed relationships, some people decide to remain single. And they realize it's not that bad. I personally enjoy the irresponsibility of being single. What about you?

"So, goodnight Michael. Sharon turned you down?! Don't worry, you escaped "The War of the Roses".
