A little plastic ball.

 slows   time

Sweat beads brow

Gyrating, grating — blur back in time

Heart thumping as dough rises,

Pony’s pile high atop the shoulders of monkeys

Unsettled yet hopeful

One in thirty six,

High stakes, small rakes

It drops, but doesn’t chose its cradle

Moves to the later.

Black, Red, Back again…

It settles… won’t break loose

Heart skips a beat

Hangman draws noose

Fear, family, Hope and dreams

Monkeys chase Pony’s – down they fall

Taken by a little plastic ball
