I see a lot of people

I hear a lot of things

They’re talking about a thousand selfish things

And becoming kings

I am still learning about life

And I am trying to become better

But this isn’t a self help letter

My name is my name

I hold no shame

But I do have to claim

It’s how I play the game

And not how I blame the name

I don’t have to live my life defined by a name

Living a certain way

I will be fine as long as I am not living life halfway

A name is a name

Not a curse I have to disclaim

My name was a strong branch crafted onto me

Not the root I stemmed from and that’s not something I have to plea

My name was passed down to me

Not given to me, because it was the scraps left over from the family tree

In my opinion I am too complex to define myself with a name

But it is the world that has to keep up if it wants to play my game

If it is my name I have to define here,

Then get ready for something that sounds like shakespeare

I don’t listen to something I overhear

They’re all just puppeteers

It doesn’t matter what my name means to those who just want to tease

You can just call it my title with ease

And to those who carry around what feels like a burden of a name,

You don’t have to define yourself by a single word

Society just walks around with a telescope that is slightly blurred

I see a lot of people

I hear a lot of things

They’re talking about a thousand selfish things,

And becoming kings

But here’s a message to the kings

Someday you aren’t going to have all those diamond rings
