I was taken out of the classroom by a group of hooded figures. "Wait! I'm in the middle of finals!"

"You have a more important job to do."

I was led to an abandoned building. We stepped on to an elevator that led deep below the earth's surface. A bearded man pulled down his hood. "I am Verik. You are not meant for this world. You are a keeper of karmic justice. You are meant to balance the scales of karma. We live in artificial cities beneath the earth."

I was brought to a room that resembled a library. One shelf was lined with crystal balls.

Verik grabbed a crystal ball, and sat down at the table across from me. "Now, for your first lesson. Look deep into the crystal ball, and tell me what you see!"

I leaned over the table, and watched the crystal ball fill with fog. Suddenly, images appeared. "My mother threatened my boyfriend!"

Verik's eyes turned red. "Look deeper!"

"I'm your worst nightmare. Listen, motherfucker, I'm going to put a bullet between your eyes!"

Kevin's hands shook, as he dropped the phone.

I was led to a room that was painted red from wall to ceiling. There was a metal wheel in the center.

"Spin the wheel, what are you waiting for?"

My hands trembled as I spun the wheel. Varrik began to chant. The wheel spun for a good 30 seconds, before landing on "homelessness."

I stared to feel queasy. "But that's my mom."

"Has she ever been there for you? Has she even been nice to you? Now pull the lever to summon the agents on the surface. They'll take care of everything."
