The city stole my breath,

dazzled by streetlights, lit up in amber

I sink into deepest regret

how quickly time moves

how suddenly people move on

Slow paced as the clocks become shadows

They're ticking in my skull

what dreadful sounds

Flame licked darkness,

as I wait to be gone,

a distant memory in your mind

In my mind I am now resigned to be alone

Endless trials sent me reeling

My feelings in a flurry

I dreamt last night, a dream of goodbyes

I have to let you go

The sun faded too soon

All I have now is a memory of a boy cradling the moon
