Release me, oh please release me.
Can't you see me waiting here?
I'm with you every day,
at your side every step.
I've watched you sleep,
you're relaxed and so at peace,
while I've had to suffer here in silence.
All for the choices I made in life.
These chains grow heavy in eternity.
Every link, inch, and yard
born from the mistakes of a fool.
My punishment is to bear this weight,
plus the knowledge of what I've lost.
I cannot move on, I cannot go back.
Doomed to haunt those I once knew.
Those who claimed they loved me,
but now pass me blindly by.
There is no greater torment,
than this cruel, cruel curse.
Release, oh please release me.
I have not the strength,
to bear my chains of past sins.
I rattle, I clank.
I scream, I moan.
Yet...you see me not.
I am nothing more than shadow.
As solid as mist.
Every link, inch, and yard.
A debt that can ne'er be repaid...
