Melancholy Moment

There are times when everything’s so grey,

can you last another day?

There’s nothing hopeful, just more gloom,

you’re staring now towards your doom.

Where’s the sun when you face the sky

and nothing but greyness meets your eye?

The clouds look like they’re made of lead,

a heavy weight upon your head.

A bleak and dreary future beckons,

getting darker with passing seconds.

Of optimism, not a glimmer,

prospects becoming ever dimmer.

A melancholy moment, will it go past,

Or is it now to stay and always last?
