It’s funny…it’s your tragedy, but it’s funny to somebody else; somebody safe, somebody smiling, somebody sheltered, somebody laughing

They can’t help it...because they don’t feel it, they don’t see it like you do

They’re removed from the suffering, from the longing, from the pain

But who’s to blame? But who’s to fault?

But who’s to say it’s not a joke?

It’s not a game we’re born to play until the broken, bitter end

It’s amusing…it’s your drama, but it’s a show to someone else; someone bored, full of life, sick of living in their shoes

When was it we disconnected from our hearts, from ourselves?

When was it we were desensitized by the crisis of reality?

We see too much, we know too little, we feel the shock just barely now; we’re numb and cold, we’re all cried out…and so we laugh until it hurts

And it hardly helps, and it hardly does anything to plug the holes the lies slip out

But who’s to blame? But who’s to fault?

But who’s to say it’s not a joke?

It’s funny—it’s a tragedy, right now we’re waiting just to die

And what is meaning? And what means anything?

The world keeps turning, the world keeps laughing as you scream
