Pondering

Pondering, deep in thought,

in mind’s miasma, I’ve been caught.

Thoughts of me, thoughts of you,

thoughts of just what I should do.

A mental maze, a chaos storm,

I wonder if this is the norm.

Mists of feeling, some emotion

Kind of put this all in motion.

Flips and filters, twists and tangles,

thinking from so many angles;

swirls and twirls all circling round

to lift my senses off the ground.

How to make some sense of it,

to think of a way to make it fit;

this pondering has fallen through

in telling me quite what to do.

Better not to think too hard, too deep

for the slope down is way too steep.

Madness waiting at the end,

to pounce if I do then descend.

Keep to the surface, do not drop,

revolving thoughts are hard to stop.

Too much thinking makes confusion,

trance and ponder in collusion.
