Family

I miss my family

Oh how I miss them so

I wish they lived close by

But alas they live so far away

I have to cross an ocean to visit them

The journey is not without peril

Alas they live far away

I moved in search of greener pastures

Home is now so far away

I miss my family so

I have made my fortune overseas

But nothing can compensate for the lack of family

I was a lonely soul for all my money

There is no going back now

Home is now ever lost to me

Home is now ever lost to me

I have now created a new home

My children and sons-in-law  are my extended family

After many a year  I have it made

I now have family to call my own

But alas I miss my extended family

Alas I miss my extended family

I must go back to visit them

To assuage the soreness of my soul

The journey is not without peril

Yet I make a pilgrimage every year

To assuage the soreness of my soul

For what would I do without family

They are my lifeline

They assuage the loneliness of my soul
