My heart is held

by a ghastly hand.

A lonesome dove

who sleeps in sand.

Awaiting a tide

to be on the rise.

To see her young

learn how to fly.

In the tassle

a thread of hope.

To release the power

for a lover to cope.

Hearts are apart

in this great divide.

The walls are glass

can we survive ?

Mending the wounds

acquired from years.

Devoured by sadness

on this trail of tears.

The mountains are gleaming

vision beyond the peaks.

Love to be conquered

is what a man seeks.

The field has vanished

only leaving the force.

The distance of disaster

our souls have divorced.

Screaming

crying

nothing worth trying .

I am disguised on the outside

but inside I'm dying.

It eats me up

like a cursing disease

that I can't overcome

except in my dreams.

New hearts are applauding.

Waiting for a calling.

Just one small chance

for a near future dance.

The rain has streaked

the glass in the skies.

The tongue in my mouth

is a platform of lies.

Anything I speak

to put your heart at ease.

To assure destruction

of this hidden obstruction .

Until I grasp you once again.

And claim sweet victory.

The dove still nests on the shore

A promise to never disappear

like before. .

The journey of love

has only just begun.
