He told me his past, While I saw our future He told me lies, All I heard was the truth He told me he liked me, But he never responded to my calls He told me he wanted to hang out, But I was the only one to make plans He told me that he wanted to see me but something came up, I was hurt but I didn't question things He kissed me, I kissed him back He told me terrible jokes, I always laughed He told me he doesn't want anything serious, I said okay He asked am I okay with that, I lied He made plans with me and ditched me for someone else, I said it was okay and that I won't talk to him anymore He flirts with me, I flirt back He doesn't spend time with me, It starts to hurt He talks about other girls, I try and not to get attached He starts to play more games, I don't want to play back He texts me, I try and not text back He asks am I angry, I tell him no He plays me again, But this time I am starting to grow He says sorry, I don't believe him He falls asleep, I'm finally awake He doesn't reach out anymore since I gave him a days silence, I realise I wasted my time talking to an emotionless wall He's with numerous girls, I feel hurt for them He smiles when he see's me, All I see is dishonesty He asks if I'm doing well, I answer yes Because I realise that without him I am happy. He's just a boy, And I'm no longer a girl that wants to be played with. He says he's lonely, I say I'm sorry to hear that Because I've moved on but he still plays with his toys, with every passing year he drops a text I see them, I reply He hasn't changed not one bit, I smile to myself for I have changed, Because of him, I learned to pick myself up and know exactly what to not look for in love. A boy who still plays with his toys, isn't man enough to feel the love I have to give. Years later my friends ask if I ever think about him, I laugh and say I barely remember you existed, I lied.
