A Global Issue.

Things seem to be escalating pretty fast now, and finally there is some evidence that the situation is not being treated as such a joke. The media seems to have delighted in reporting the name-calling, the threats and the counter-threats being made between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un, mostly turning it in to being something kind of farcical.

Farcical it might well be, but it is also very dangerous. Both sides are being boxed into corners from which there is only one way to escape without losing face; let's face it, neither of these guys wants to do that. And that way is by following through on at least some of the threats that have been made. It has almost become a waiting game to see who is going to act first. And then there has been another player entering in the game, in the form of Iran. After all, why not grab a piece of the action!

The prospect of World War 3 taking place is becoming more likely every day. Whenever there is any break in the tensions, it is short-lived and is then followed by increasing animosity. If things should escalate, it really will be a World War; for even those not participating directly in the conflict will be severely effected. And how many nuclear bombs will it take to reduce the planet to rubble?

So I know it’s funny to read the insults that are flying backwards and forwards between them, but maybe the media should be treating it all with a bit more seriousness, and a little less as comic relief.
