Faceless

I don’t need to see it, don’t need to see your face,

so many interchangeable, are filling up this space.

You’ll be sure that I will not belong, it will not take a while

for you’ll turn me into some misfit, make me an exile.

Not long before the taunting, the pushing and the names,

not long before you think up some brand new ‘victim’ games.

You’ll form a group together, make a wall that can’t be broken,

think up some scathing insults and make a weapon that is spoken.

You’ll not be satisfied until you cause me to go and weep,

becoming a nightmare monster group that prevents me sleep.

You are like some faceless models, and you are acting out a part,

the bully to the victim – well, you’ve made of it an art!

So many of you are there, making it so hard to fit,

but one thing about us misfits is that we don’t just go and quit.

We’ll find some way to carry on, though we might be alone;

at least we’ve remained ourselves and not become some mindless drone.
