Approach me with the truth,

Let's sit down and talk.

Are you uncouth,

You shouldn't balk.

Speak, don't be afraid,

I'll sit and listen.

It could be of Ivory or Jade,

Or of stones that glisten.

You can speak of anything,

Even of how you're feeling.

Tell all, empty your heart,

And make a new start.

Don't hold it all in,

It could blow your mind.

It is not a sin,

To be true, and to be kind.

Try me and see,

I'll gladly give an ear,

Whatever it may be

I'm willing to hear.
