She was a dreamer—that was the problem; she loved the clouds more than she ever loved him

Those intangible wonders dispersed in the sun captivated her eyes in an unbreakable trance

What dwells on the ground could never compare…could never fill up those patches of sky

Those patches of blue spaced between wispy clouds were doubtless the doorways to worlds far beyond

She was a dreamer, that was the problem; she desired those things he just could not find

Beneath all the logic which cluttered his mind, all the stories forgotten and buried in time

Faeries and imps, mischief and wings; midsummer nights and puppets off strings

Dancing with stars, singing to moons; skating on rivers, lightening that blooms

Petals in rain, blown by the wind; hourglass sands reversing again

The pipers that set the children all free, would lure her away where he could not be

She was a dreamer, that was the problem; and he had not a clue how to answer her heart
