In the space between these lines, I’ve been digging up my heart

I’ve been trying to find some meaning to clarify the vagueness in my thoughts

There’s something chafing against my bones, contorting within my gut

An essence straining to be acknowledged, to be nourished and revealed

I cannot know the origins of this thing which must be born

It is living, it is life; it is beyond my means to quash

Will it hurt me? Only just, only enough to be defined…

To be felt as something real, and not a figment of a dream

On the lines within this space, I have planted the roots of me

I have clarified a few small thoughts, and escaped an empty lapse of time
