Poem by: unmasked delusions
You’re like an ice cube
Slipping, drifting down the road
Dissolving before they can find you.
Life goes on brother
Remember you didn’t have to-
You didn’t have to leave.
Déjà vu;
Song plays behind you,
Street lights reveal your figure.
Forgot what it was to be human
A permanent freak of nature
Send back a letter if it haunts you
I want to hear back, understand?
Love is far off
When you’re out of tune
And sad.
When you’re scorned,
Burned,
Hanging loose
And you think nobody loves you-
Love is cruel then,
It’s desperate and crude.
People left with nothing
Please drop the hang noose.
Laying in a bathtub
Are you?
Lying in blood juice
Sinking on cue
With nothing above or below you?
Nothing for, with or necessarily against you?
Love and hate both gave,
Took,
And slayed.
You were neutral,
In the middle,
Neither here nor there.
Still,
A drifter,
Rolling with the thunder
And under
The clouds
You stoop,
You drift,
You fade…
But I still love you brother.
In my dream,
You come back today
But in nightmares
Still,
You drift further and further away

once a dreamer now a screamer depending on the path you follow. From a something something to a nothing, leaving both inside all hollow.
This was fantastic, unmasked. Someone lost from too much, too little....the short lines are perfect!
Powerful words, Becca. certainlt gets the message over.
Regards
Chris
Very well written...with strong word power.
You write about a place and space that has been visited by many.
