The sky was clear the stars alight,
We're getting ready to ride a cold night,
We stepped outside our breath to see,
The cold did not creep up on me,

As we got rolling the wind was fierce,
Right through our clothes it happily pierced,
We rode for an hour then had to stop,
For some warmth and a coffee we had to shop,

The shivering, shaking and spilling of brew,
A certain sign your frozen right through,
You know it's cold when your hair does freeze,
and your jeans they snap across the knees,

We rode for two hours determined you see,
To complete this journey as quick as can be,
The effort was needed to help out a friend,
But we were all glad to thaw out in the end.
