Sitting in one corner of station, with a small 3yr old kid in lap, so many unanswered questions running in mind. Question to her parents (how can they assume I have died, just because I have done love marriage), question to in-laws (how can they think that I am the killer of my own loving husband), question to God ( why me), question to myself (how I am going to survive as a single mom, will this harsh world let me live, where shall I go now, how will i rear my child). Born in an orthodox family, Geeta was the most pampered girl, being the only sister of 3 brothers. She was so carefree, very arrogant, not at all respectful.. Jst on one voice, so many ppl were there for her help, had never even lifted her own empty glass and put in the basin. But being a girl, she was not allowed to study beyond 10th class and was restricted to her home. Somehow she managed to get admission in nursing college with the help of her aunt without the knowledge of her father and started studying through correspondence. Then cupid shot his arrow which made her run from her home to marry the love of her life  against her parents wishes as he doesnt belong to her caste. Her parents cut all ties with her. She sensed a moment of freedom, freedom from all restrictions and inhibitions. Now she could go wherever she wants. She was only 18. Soon after marriage, she got pregnant. She continued her studies after marriage. Though financially her husband was not strong, but she was happy. She did all household work, learnt to know how to make chapatis on stove, washed utensils, took good care of her mother-in law. They went out together to evening walks. She was enjoying her married life, her husband loved her and at tender age of 19 she gave birth to baby boy. Both were studying and taking care of their child. A year passed. She finished her nursing course. Now she became a full time stay at home mother. Celebrated their son's first birthday with great pomp and show. Everything was going perfectly. She was enjoying her life. 4yrs passed but fate has decided something else for her. One day she got a call, that her husband had an accident from bike and he could not make it. All hell broke loose. Just in one second her happy world shattered. Her mother in law threw her out of the house alongwith her 3yr old kid, blaming her to be the reason for her son's death. She cried her heart out but all in vain. She called her parents but they didnt pick up the phone. She didnt know where to go, whom to meet, what to do. She took one suitcase of her belongings, went to the railway station with lil kid in her lap. She sat in one corner of the platform. She was just crying and crying, couldnt realise anything whats all happening. She thought of committing suicide, killing her son first and then herself. But looking at her son's face, she couldnt gain that courage. She was sitting alone in the busy crowd. Her lil kid was crying of hunger. The lil milk she had brought for her son in bottle was finished. As the dark night approached, crowd on station became sparse, so now the only ppl who were left were few beggars and  disabled. She was scared to hell but somehow the night passed. She kept on trying to contact her parents the whole night. Next morning, seeing her plight one old lady came to her and asked if she would like to come with her. Being a complete stranger, she was afraid to say yes but looking at her son's face who was hungry for the past 24hrs, she decided to go with her. The old lady was living alone in a single room. She was a cook. When she used to go out for cooking, Geeta cleaned her room, washed her clothes, prepared food. This way she spent 15 days with her. Meanwhile, she got a job of staff nurse in some hospital. They offered her a monthly salary of just Rs 3000 but at that time even 3000rs were a big amount for her. Hospital management also provided her accomodation, a single room at the rooftop. She started working there, her son played with ward boys while she was on duty. Days passed. With her savings, she managed to buy a single room on rent and shifted there. Now the big question was who would take care of her son when she is out for work. So she started training her 3yr old son to stay alone. She would keep the food inside, asked her son to play in the room and she would pretend to be sitting outside. Starting with 15min followed by half hour to one hour and slowly increasing it to 6hrs, poor lil chap got trained to stay alone, thinking her mother to be sitting outside. Sometimes, he used to get scared also and called out to her. She would go inside and asked him to recite 'Om namah shivay'. He toilet trained himself slowly as they say necessity is the mother of invention. When he was fully trained, she started going out for job, locking him inside. She would give the keys to neighbours, if somtimes need arises. One day her neighbours found him to be crying. They opened the lock, power had went off, so he got scared. Slowly she started building her home. She shifted to better jobs, started part time jobs, took care of bed ridden patients. She had to leave few jobs also where some males tried to take benefit of her thinking to be a single mom. As child grew older, she wanted him to provide best education. Though she knew she wont be able to afford but she also knew she was living for her child only and would work harder for him. Every year at the time of admissions, she used to stand in long queues of big school. Once one teacher noticed her, heard her story and asked her that she would call her in evening. But again no call came from school. When you are detetmined for something then God find ways to help u. The Principal of that school got admitted in the hospital in which she was working. He recognised Geeta and promised her child's asmission in school. Also told her she would have to pay only 50% of admission fees, rest all fees will be taken care of by school funds. She borrowed some money from hospital to pay the fees and returned that in parts every month. One day, while she was on duty she received the news that her child went missing from school. She was scared like hell. She ran from hospital and went from place to place in search of her son, with all those bad thoughts coming to her mind. He was her only one world. She was about to file the complaint in police station, when her drunken father in law called her up. She warned the school authorities and threatened her father in law. With all those ups and downs, she has come out to be a stronger women. After 2yrs, her mother in law suddenly came out of nowhere and started begging pardon of all the things she had said and done. Though she couldnt forget all those atrocities, but she finally forgave her, leaving things with God for justification. Finally she has started living her life. She has started enjoying life once again. Once a month they go to mall and eat their favourite food. Her son sings Bieber songs and he wants to be a singer. She wants to send him to singing academy and she is trying hard to save money for him. Though her son is so small to understand things but he does say he will buy a bungalow for her. He thinks like all other kids he will also get papa after she marries. When she was narrating her whole story, never for once she cried but couldnt hold back her tears thinking how her son used to starve for a single biscuit. She is so young and has seen so much in her life She is the one who gives me so much positive vibes. A true inspiration. She never says no to any work, does her work so efficiently. Always smiling and laughing and singing... 'Ae zindagi gale lagale'
