I cannot sleep, I can’t keep still,

My mind is rampant, my heart is ill.

I cannot take this, I think I’ll break,

What’s really keeping me awake?

My eyes I can’t keep them shut,

A sour feeling right in my gut.

Feeling nauseous and alone,

My mind; a world of its own.

Restless nights filled with regret,

My mind’s reluctant to forget.

I now dread going to bed,

Too many thoughts inside my head.

I’m an insomniac with many fears,

I want to know why I’m in tears.

I cannot sleep; I know that much,

How will my nights get rid of such?
