Bruised and Bloodied

Written by Rocky Alderhawk

Unsure of the battle inside,

Not knowing what is happening

Not knowing if it is all real or fake.

All to hope for is the future

Looking up and imagining

The stars,

The moon,

The abyss.

The blank canvas

Soon to be painted with

Pain, love, hurt, excitement,

Tears, enraged fits, mental breakdowns

Every inner turmoil

Every thought placed out in the vastness,

Exposed.

The girl crying behind her smiling mask,

The boy holding a gun to his head when everyone else laughs ignoring him,

Another girl,

Everyone’s talking to her like she’s the queen bee,

When all she is doing is standing there.

Like a lifeless mannequin

People see what they wish

Do what they see fit

Put themselves down,

When what they deserve is

The world.
