A life led by parents who believe the impossible is possible if you try hard enough. A father who works six days a week and sometimes seven. A mother who believes she “slaves” over the family.

Never been the brightest or fastest or best looking. Always been told I was the brightest and the fastest. Always expected go far. Never gone far enough.

Hopes were always high for where things were going even though everything was spiraling out of control. Grades were low and everything that was told was false.

Mother and father never did college. But that’s the expectation. Barely able to sustain high school leaves the question, why so much if they couldn’t do it?
