You’ve become my addiction.

Such a deliciously, forbidden past-time.

Addiction.

You’re not caffeine, though I adore the black depths of the brew.

You’re not candy, though the taste of sugar is its own high.

You’re not a novel, though I’d love to know your story.

Addiction.

I feel I cannot live without your smile, never have my eyes seen a sweeter sight.

The sound of your voice when you speak or sing, sweet, low, and tender it falls, delighting my ears.

Your pure heart and chivalric nature, put to shame any shining armored knight of every fairy-tale.

What others have criticized you for, makes me love you even more.

Addiction.

What started out innocently enough, after all, I’d only sought your name.

Turned quite quickly into an obsession with the impossibility of your existence.

I tried to make you a muse, a benign phantom, a mere character in a story.

Now I’ve gone too deep, I’ve seen too much. I want out, but I need it too much.

The Reaper will be surprised with so willing a soul.

You’re my addiction, and you’ll be the death of me.
