I've been watching the Outlander series on Starz. I think it must be my favorite show of all time. While watching the show, I guess subconciously I was thinking about how my own life paralleled
some of the events, only in a different way. I once loved someone with all of my heart and he died of Leukemia. It silently tore me apart for a long time. Somehow the show Outlander allowed me to
find this poem that was buried somewhere in my heart and I was able to bring it to the surface. It may not be all that good, but it means a lot to me. I think it has helped me cope with those
memories.

Gone

You were my world,
then you were gone.
So full of life.
Who could have known?

Those days we shared
like summer’s kiss
held through the night.
It’s you I miss.

After you left
the winter’s wind
tore out my heart.
It would not mend.

My soul was ripped
apart by fate.
Each day it longs
with endless wait.

When death does call
for my life’s end,
I’ll look for you
to love again.
