Your eyes

Are dancing cinders

In the vacant October air

Warm and fiery and maroon.

And as we lay still

Glowing like ice in the pale moonlight

I know I am falling into the kind of love

That moves mountains

and makes the winter stars collide.

And as my coffee warms

I think of the frigid sky,

Of its endless wonder,

And of you.

My love, you are in my veins

and I only hope that you stay.
