I met you at midnight, under the glow of the stars.

You promised a universe, freedom, and love. That was

not what I received, darling, was it? No, I received anger

and hatred and lies - "If only you listened", "If only you'd try".

Eventually you wore me down until I was a shadow of me,

lost in a storm of tears and anger and shaking in my front

room as I tried not to scream myself senseless. Yet another

fight leading to yet more self harm.

Circles and circles, and spheres within spheres, dancing

around in a never ending pattern that saw me left helpless.

I trusted you with my life and my soul, but all you ever told

me was "ill met by gaslight".
