What is home? Is it a place, or an idea? Sometimes I think home is what we need it to be; a place we feel safe in. A foundation to build upon.

My Exodus

Forgotten lands and a forgotten home,
This place is foreign, strange to behold,
Land to till is not always land to keep,
When land lent you is owned by the sheep,

Searching for home takes you to strange places,
Uncomfortable dwelling, wondering what it replaces,
Times change, and so do people bound by it,
Truth is acceptance, pursuing something counterfeit,

This is my exodus, my roots to return to,
Actions necessitous, my investment withdrew,
Forcing myself forward, whilst being forced back,
My return is awkward, truly, not my comeback,

Forgotten lands and a forgotten home,
This place is foreign, strange to behold,
Land not mine is land not enough,
We are guests, and yet compliance is tough,

I cannot stay here, for I am not alone,
And so we must go, in search of our home,
Something our own, something neither has had,
Foreign places are never wholly bad,
