It was a day

Simple in its way

It felt fine

It ended that I didn’t dine.

Lunch:

I had a craving

A savour I was saving

I fought the waves

To cave what I crave

I tossed the taste

One way waste

I got it great

Little too late

Afternoon:

Mid digestion

Day diverted direction

Terminated trains

Wretched without rains

Evening:

Money to make

Thought it was mistake

Wrote a rain check

That box didn’t check

Day turned dishonest

Script was sadly set

Knew it when I mumbled

And strings of things tumbled

Night:

Didn’t know why

Seconds were so sly

My head turned the hours

What paused my powers?
