A A A

I got a groove in my steps,

A skip in my heels.

I’m deaf to the world,

but to the beat in my ears.

I got a sway in the hips,

A sensuous frame.

A model’s strut,

on broken tiles, it couldn’t tame.

I got a bounce in my hair,

A timeless dance.

They’ve practiced it,

a thousand times.

Tango of black strands,

A pair of stranger, shares.

Twirl to the Wind’s lead. It brews,

confidence where eyes would glue.

Future-beings grief, for their

Seconds passed without a beat, to boot.

I now walk in their shadows.

Unapologetic, with a beat, to beat.
