A poem for Kelly Clarkson. A beautiful woman who has worked extra hard for success. To the people who don't appreciate your "look", or talent, go climb a rope! This is for you Mrs. Blackstock. Am I
a poet? About as much as a monkey throwing paint at a wall is an artist, I guess.

Should have got to know me better

You should have thought things out

You went and told me to be myself!

Found I wasn't what you thought I was about

Standards, panels, soft voices

Confident in my own noises

The whispers, the judges; subtle unseen nudges

Making such hard, Idol choices

Self esteem self esteem

There is no in between

A gesture, a word; not always heard

In this fickle in-du-stry

Like when they found out his surprise

Keeping it secret; trying hard to hide

Misinformation, changes; transformations

No right to care how one cares to indentify.

Treading life; happier for now

He loves me just the way I am

A rich family life; not hourglass lines

A philosophy they'll never understand
