I am a bathtub

full of stale water

stained with the past

sitting in my own

mistakes.

someone has opened

my drain, to clean

my pain, redeem,

remind, and re-

create.

but now I sit

watching my past

wash away, and

I sit, I stare,

I wait.

I thought I would

prefer emptiness

to misery, yet

all I feel is

afraid.

seeing is believing

and I am blind

and to your array

of emotions I don’t

relate.

my mind was full

now it sits in pools

of dry murk bubbling

up and I cannot

escape.
