First day of the time of dark,

where sunset is celebrated,

so to see the stars which

will leave our view at dawn.

Beautiful space of darkness,

known as Sam Hain.

Where the last of the harvest

has been gathered,

before winters chill begins.

Halloween when the veil

between the realm of the spirit

is thin and we only have to

reach to be touched again.

The Jack-o-lantern turned

outward at your doorstep,

to chase evil spirits away.

Or on this night

of the time of the dark

turn it towards,

to invite them in.

And when they meet you

then you and you alone,

can judge what is truly evil,

for the way of the darkness

is for you to own.
