Cold unbearable,

but that which must be born.

Chains of sharp binding,

glisten in torches flame.

Hot metal searing flesh,

to bring confession.

And men of God strut about,

in full confidence

of their goodness.

Gazing into the eyes

of Satan, found through mine.

The cross, everywhere

before me as I begin

to understand,

how instruments of torture,

are of purity to them.

My dying eyes are closing,

but I feel they will open again.

To gaze anew

with far different vision,

upon a darker realm.
