What did I just see? Who is the body? I should go tell the cops. I was just walking through the woods to clear my head and then I literally stumble over the body. At first I thought it was a fallen log but when I turned around I really found out what it was. The decaying remains of someone’s body.
Okay, Joanna, get it together. You need to use your phone to call 911. I grab my phone out of my pocket and dial 911.
“Are you kidding me?” Ugh, I have no signal out here!
I start walking waving my phone around to find a signal.

...

The police finally make it to my location. They are so many of them, they’re like bees buzzing around the nest.
  “Excuse me, ms?”
I turn around to see a really cute officer. Man, I sure love a man in uniform.
“Yes?” I ask, blushing and tucking a piece of hair behind my ear.
“Are you the one that called the body in?” He asks as he looks down at the little notepad in his hand. “Joanna Baxley?”
“Yes, I’m Joanna Baxley.” Look down.
“My name is Officer Bentley Mitchell. Can I ask you a few questions?” He smiles at me.
Why is he so cute? His eyes are the clearest blue I have ever seen, like the ocean on a summer day.
  “Um, sure.”
I’m still confused on what happened, I don’t know what to feel right now.
Officer Mitchell is looking at me, looking at me like I haven’t been looked at in a long time.
“Ms. Baxley, why were you this deep in the woods?”
“I was hiking, trying to clear my mind.” I look down and push some leaves around that were at my feet.
“Did you see anyone else out here besides yourself?” Officer Mitchell keeps his eyes on the little pad in his hands, scribbling down my answers.
“Not that I noticed, I wasn’t really paying attention. I was kinda in my own world.”
“Mhmm I see. You know it’s dangerous to be out here by yourself. You should have someone with you.” He looks up at me with this look, this gleam in his eye that mesmerizes me. He smiles this brilliant smile with the whitest teeth that almost blinds me.
  “Ms. Baxley? Are you okay?”
“What? Oh, yeah I’m fine. Sorry, what did you say?”
I didn’t realize I zoned out. I swear I’ve never been like this in front of a guy before.
“I said it’s dangerous out here by yourself, someone should be walking with you out here.”
“I know it’s dangerous but I like walking by myself, helps me think. Plus I don’t really have many friends to talk to.” I look down at my brown hiking boots.
“Well maybe I could hike with you, I love to hike.” I look up at that.
“No, no you don’t have to do that, I’ll be fine.” I start blushing as I push another piece of loose hair behind my ear.
I always do that when I’m nervous. Yet again, I’m always nervous.
“Well maybe I want to. Maybe I want to get to know you more. Is that okay?”
God, his eyes are so blue! Damn it.
“Well then I don’t have a problem with that. Maybe I want to know more about you too.” I can’t help but smile a shy smile.
“Then it’s a date, say Saturday? Noon?”
“Okay.” I don’t know how to respond.
“Okay, well that’s all the questions I have for you. Oh, I need your phone number for the investigation.” He hands me his notepad.
I take the pad from his hand and write my number down. I give it back and he walks away, smiling at me.
