Lost

The clouds drew closer as little Moki was jumping around in the puddle. His attention was drawn to the storm with the loud crack of lightning; The heavy rain, falling in unison with great force to the forest floor. He was thrust into a panicked frenzy, the other animals hurrying by him. He was very scared now, looking every which way for his mother, brother and sister. But it was no use.

They were nowhere in sight, and he was becoming more and more afraid as the storm got worse overhead. He ran towards where he had come from this morning, crying out for his mama again and again, hearing nothing in return. He stopped in his tracks, not sure what to do next, paranoid and frightened. But as bleak as things seemed, something his mama once told him popped into his head.

“When times of trouble arise, always look for the safest spot close to you.”

and he did just that.

He saw in the corner of his eye, a large toadstool, perched just below a tree. He ran as quickly as his little legs could carry him, and curled himself up beneath the house-like fungus.

Not a hundred percent sure how I feel about this. It's adorable in one way and rather tragic in another. Poor Moki, he's gonna be scarred for life. His mother abandoned him in the time of need and his only shelter a piece of fungus that could grow on him. Let's hope the storm passes quickly.

Everyone pray for Moki's safety. Nice little story, SurfsUp. I'll check back for any continuation. Just gotta see how you deal with his timidness.
