A constant battle that I fight,

And it’s too personal to write.

But here I go and I’ll explain,

The thoughts that never do detain.

I am unhappy with what I see,

The mirror holds a travesty.

Recalling; what was it that I ate?

Perhaps I should be losing weight.

I fight these urges with my might,

The mirror cannot stand my sight.

I must not eat and I won’t gain,

Get these thoughts out of my brain!

Unhealthy fasting; that’s not good,

Why do I feel misunderstood?

This dress’ too tight and these damn jeans!

Am I too fat? Is what it means.

I can’t compete; I am a fool,

The mirror’s words are just too cruel.
