Say, I read a note

About the world, a long month ago

Say, I am a new man,

Reading another ability in my arms.

Reading is only for the blind,

that's why when we all bundle up and lie, lie down in the sand screaming.

Say, don't look at me when I cry

Who said anything about dying?

Don't look at me when I cry.

Say, the world guarantees when we go to sleep that everything's alright.

Why the tears?

Read a book, why the fears?

Shift the life by the gears,

and just ride out the waves.

There's no speed limit that I paved.

Write the words, paint a picture only she can hear,

that she can breathe through her ears,

Then wipe her tears, it's rainwater.

Don't look at me when I cry

Who said anything about fighting?

Say, don't look at me when I cry.

The world guarantees when we go to sleep that some thing's alright.

Why the tears?

Red eyes, new tide, you're shy

Tidal waves wash you out the shores

New guy, but why, you're high,

Or at least you should be.

Should you be?

Novacaine, cause you're in pain,

cause I'm in pain, cause you're insane

Or maybe you're not after all,

I forgot to say: hey.

Don't look at me when I cry

Who said anything about trying?

Don't look at me when I cry

The world guarantees that when we go to sleep, nothing's fine.

Why the tears?
